Arsene Wenger to Arsenal fans: please stand by us, we can still qualify
Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal still have a chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League
The Gunners suffered an embarrassing 3-1 home defeat to Monaco on Wedensday night which has severely damaged their hopes of progressing through to the next round of the competition.
Several Arsenal supporters tore into Wenger and the team after Wednesday's night Champions League defeat to Monaco.
But the Frenchman, 65, has urged those fans to back the Gunners, who lost 3-1 to their French opponents, for the remainder of the season.
Speaking yesterday, he said: You're not a fan for one game but for the club and no matter how good your team or club is you play 55 games per year and have moments where you are disappointed.
We are third in the league and on a strong run and we don't play to go down.
We want to finish the season in a strong way.
We are still in the Champions League don't rule us out too quickly.
We played over 180 games in the CL and have thought very hard against Besiktas just to qualify.
What is frustrating is to go out in the last 16 in the last four years but twice against the future winner.
But we are not out yet
