Juventus Will Resist Temptation To Cash In On Pogba

Juventus believe they could bank at least £50million if they sell Paul Pogba in the summer, but insist they will not be tempted to cash in

Since leaving Manchester United’s reserves to play a leading role for the Italian giants, Pogba has emerged as one of the best talents in European football. The midfielder has helped the Bianconeri win the Serie A title in both of his seasons at the club, and he looks set to make this a third successive triumph this time round as they currently lead the table by 14 points.

The France international, who has scored five goals in 22 appearances for his country and featured at the World Cup last summer, is under contract in Turin until 2019 after agreeing a new deal last October, but he continues to be linked with a host of top clubs. Despite this, the Scudetto holders insist they will resist the temptation to cash in and instead keep hold of the 22-year-old.

“There are clubs that are ready to spend €70million [£50million] to €80million for Paul Pogba,” the club’s general director, Giuseppe Marotta, told Italian radio station Radio Deejay. “There are many suitors for Pogba, but we do not want to open negotiations and we want him to stay with us. If we want to increase our level, we need players of great quality and Pogba is one of them.”

As well as his old club at Old Trafford, Chelsea and Manchester City are thought to be willing to offer Pogba a return to the Premier League as early as next season, whilst Paris St Germain are keen to lure him back to his homeland whilst Spanish giants Real Madrid are known admirers. Since arriving in Italy, the midfielder has scored 22 goals in 113 appearances in all competitions.
