Tony Pulis: Brown Ideye is now a different player
West Brom manager Tony Pulis has declared that Brown Ideye is now a “different” player as his recent goals have lifted a burden off him
“‘Brownie’ (Ideye), since he scored a goal, has looked a different player,” remarked Pulis.
“He’s always been a good lad since I’ve come in here. He’s got a wonderful attitude and he’s a nice lad.
“Scoring goals has lifted that weight off him and he’s playing with a lot more freedom now.”
The Nigeria striker has scored three goals in his last four games for his English Premier League side after a difficult start to life in England.
The manager also urged Ideye’s strike partner Saido Berahino to continue focusing on events on the pitch.
“Saido has always, even from outside, shown he’s got wonderful talent,” Pulis said.
“The important thing for Saido is to concentrate on his football and forget about what goes on around it.
