Special relationship between Hazard and Mourinho
Eden Hazard has hailed his Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claiming the pair have a "special relationship" together
The Belgian, who will run out at Wembley on Sunday to take on Tottenham in the Capital One Cup final, wasn't always considered what many call a "Mourinho player".
But the man himself insists the two get on famously and he appreciates the freedom the Portuguese affords him in his system.
"It’s true we do have a special relationship," he told the Independent. "What is good about him as a coach is that he lets us play. He lets me play.
"He is not always on at me and I really appreciate that. If it isn’t good he says so, if it is good he says so. He is always direct."
Since Mourinho returned for his second spell in charge at Stamford Bridge the perception is that he has changed Hazard as a player from a luxury, freestyling winger to a hardworking wideman. But the 24-year-old contends that is not the case.
"I don’t think he has changed me. He has taught me to become more professional and to be better on the pitch," he added.
"I don’t think I have changed my mentality. You can’t change that. I am who I am. He has always taught me to get the best out of myself."
