The wife of new Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat will make sure the Dutchman does not stay with the Black Cats more than two months, according to a fellow countryman
The former Rangers and Holland manager has taken over at Sunderland on a short-term deal until the end of the season after the sacking of Gus Poyet.
Dutch journalist Arno Vermeule said Advocaat has the ability to retain Sunderland’s Premier League position, but added that his time at the club might be limited.
“His wife doesn’t allow him to work abroad for a long time. He has to be at home next year so she allows him to work for two months in England for Sunderland,” he said.
“He as a coach is capable to do the job in two months, he is technical very good, he has the qualities to put a lot of energy in the team. He did it in the past, two years ago at Alkmaar, so it can be very successful in England.”
