Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was pleased with his team’s solid performance in their 1-0 victory over Palermo at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Saturday evening in Serie A
Despite the narrow scoreline and the lack of chances for both teams in the game, the Bianconeri effectively denied space and any chances for Palermo to attack, with the home side failing to register a single shot on target.
Juventus however were left frustrated for much of the game, and it took a sublime curling effort from Alvaro Morata to break the deadlock and earn the three points.
“Tonight wasn’t any easy game, but it was an important victory and the boys have grown as a result,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
“We didn’t give anything away, apart from one counter-attack in the first half. We could have done better after going 1-0 up, but the team managed the advantage well.”
The 47-year-old praised the cameo performance of Alvaro Morata, who produced a fine goal to give Juventus the edge in a scrappy game.
“It was a wonderful goal, and he also had to beat the centre back [Andelkovic] first.”
