Arsene Wenger escapes disciplinary action after half-time rant at Monaco ref
Arsene Wenger has escaped disciplinary action despite his half-time rant at the ref in Monaco on Tuesday
The Arsenal boss confirmed he blasted Norwegian Svein Oddvar Moen in Monte Carlo at the break of the game which saw his team crash out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage for a fifth time in a row.
“I felt the referee had a very poor first half personally,” he said after the match. “I just told him that I was not happy with some decisions.”
Wenger has form with refs before. In March 2012 he was handed a three-match ban and a £33,000 fine for his angry rant at referee Damir Skomina after a game against Milan at The Emirates.
But UEFA confirmed on Thursday there would be no disciplinary action this time.
