News emerged that an American consortium would have voiced their interest in acquiring shares in AC Milan
AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has lately held discussions with Thai businessman Bee Taechaubol, but would now be considering negotiations with the new US consortium.
The US consortium would have offered €600 million for all the AC Milan shares, an offer Berlusconi would have rebuffed as insufficient, according to La Repubblica.
The Italian media also reported that former Rossoneri player, David Beckham, could be one of the members of the American consortium that would invest in AC Milan.
David Beckham played for AC Milan during two successive loan stints in 2009 and 2010. After five years playing in Major League Soccer, Beckham exercised an option to buy a new MLS expansion team based in Miami.
