Cristiano Ronaldo must stop being so cocky and rude
Cristiano Ronaldo needs to stop being so cocky and disrespectful to his teammates, Real Madrid legend Carlos Santillana said
Ronaldo’s petulant behaviour was again evident for all to see at the weekend when his effort against Levante was saved before Gareth Bale smashed in the rebound – resulting in the former Manchester United star waving his arm in disgust.
Later in the game he was whistled at by Real fans after he lost the ball and failed to chase back, prompting the Portuguese to show his disgust in his native tongue.
With Messi leading the scorers charts by two goals perhaps Ronaldo’s anger could be explained by his desperation to get claw back the deficit.
Since winning his Ballon d’Or title, things have gone downhill for the Real star with him registering a relatively poor 10 goals in the past two months – nine fewer than his rival Messi who has been back to his best.
But whatever the reason, Santillana says there is no excuse for his actions and has urged him to think of the team more rather than himself.
“Cristiano Ronaldo should temper his cocky attitude. As a supporter, I do not like Ronaldo’s attitude. Sometimes it seems that he blames his teammates or that he is not satisfied when the rest play well. From outside I have that feeling,” he told AS.
“It is his character but when he does that kind of thing, he should think more about it because Real Madrid fans don’t like it.”
