David De Gea to stay at Man Utd


David De Gea has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid

Real Madrid are on the verge of signing River Plate goalkeeper Augusto Batalla, according to reports

Spanish newspaper AS claim the the 18-year-old is set to spend next season on loan at the European champions with the option of making the deal permanent.

Rivier Plate president Rodolfo D'Onofrio is quoted as saying: "The contract has still not been signed, but in June Batalla will go to Real Madrid on loan for one year with an option to buy at a high price."

The Argentina Under-20 international has been described as one of the most promising goalkeepers in the world and is seen as a potential replacement for Iker Casillas.

The news will be welcomed by Manchester United fans as they hope to keep hold of David De Gea.

The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a return to Spain as Carlo Ancelotti looks for Casillas' successor.

The 24-year-old has been United's standout performer this season, keeping the Red Devils in the hunt for a top four place with a number of fine saves in key matches.

Real have also been linked with a move for Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois.

Batalla, who turns 19 next month, is reportedly expected to train with Real's first team and play games for the Castilla side as he looks to break into the senior side.
