Angel di Maria will be a success at Manchester United despite his recent troubles, believes compatriot Julio Arca
The £59.7million summer signing from Real Madrid has seen his form dip dramatically in recent weeks, culminating in his sending off against Arsenal in their FA Cup quarter-final clash.
But former Sunderland star and fellow Argentine Arca, reckons he will eventually perform to his best at Old Trafford once he has fully settled in to English football.
He told the Weekend Sports Breakfast: “I’ve seen these kind of things happen before with Argentinian and South American players. Some players take a little bit longer than others to get used to it [English football].
“It happened with Fabricio Coloccini at Newcastle. When he first came it took him a good six months to a year to adapt to English football, so it might be the case with Angel di Maria. It might take a little bit longer than people expected.
“He’s a great player. A great talent and I’m sure he’s going to do well for Manchester United.”
