Gary Neville has joked about trying to convince Lionel Messi to sign for Manchester United
The Sky Sports pundit is travelling to Barcelona for tonight's crunch Champions League last-16 clash with Manchester City.
It prompted one fan to tweet Neville: "Gary have a word with Messi about joining United next season."
And Neville, who has 2.7m followers on the social-networking site, replied: "Will jump right on that."
Messi missed a penalty in the last-minute of the first leg at the Etihad Stadium.
But Barcelona still lead 2-1 and are well-placed to book their spot in the last eight.
Messi's future at the Nou Camp is uncertain due to a mixture of boardroom disagreements and a troubled relationship with boss Luis Enrique.
