Chelsea's £26.1m January signing Juan Cuadrado is confident he will be a success at Stamford Bridge - and has praised manager Jose Mourinho for his paternal management style
The Colombia international has played just 175 minutes under Mourinho after joining from Fiorentina two months ago.
It has caused some fans to question the signing, particularly as Mohamed Salah has scored six times after moving the other way on loan.
But Cuadrado has no regrets about the switch to west London and has urged people to give him time to adapt to English football.
He said: "I am happy. I am adapting to the city, the game and the new teammates.
After a change a player needs to be patient. I have just started. I need to work hard and when the chance arrives be ready for it.
"Mourinho has made a good impact me. He is an excellent person. With the media, during the interviews, he is a different person but with the players he is like a father.
"Yes (he has asked me to defend more). He told me that besides attacking I need to mark the rivals but I am used to it. In Italy, [Fiorentina manager] Vincenzo Montella also told me that I had to defend, not just attack."
Cuadrado's lack of contribution mirrors that of another Colombia star Radamel Falcao, who has scored just four times at Manchester United this term.
When asked if he felt Colombia players have a problem finding their best form in the Premier League, Cuadrado added: "No. The Premier League is a little bit different [to the Italian league].
"The transition from defence to attack is very fast. But the Colombian players are ready for it. We must be patient and with time you will see the results."
