Stafan Savic: Mohamed Salah has surprised me
Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic has been blown away by the performances of Chelsea loanee Mohamed Salah this season
The Moroccan was sent to the Italian club on loan until the end of the season after failing to break into the Chelea first team, with Juan Cuadrado going in the opposite direction.
And Salah has made an excellent start to life in Florence, scoring four goals in six games and adding one assist.
Savic, who previously had a spell at Manchester City, says he was not aware of just how good Salah is and hopes la Viola sign him on a permanent deal.
“I knew Salah was a very good player, but I didn’t know he was that good,” Savic told Corriere dello Sport.
“When Salah enters the pitch it looks like he is entering a war. His legs never stop moving, and he runs until the last inch of the pitch. He is also a bit lucky, because he is always waiting for the ball at the right time.
“He is a very shy person but we welcomed him with great enthusiasm and I hope that he stays with us,” the Montenegrin added.
Cuadrado, meanwhile, has faced a tougher start since switching clubs. The Colombian has failed to record a goal or assist in his four games for Chelsea while playing just 154 minutes.
