Zlatan Ibrahimovic : I am sorry

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Paris St-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has apologised after saying France "does not deserve" PSG

Ibrahimovic's outburst came in the tunnel following his side's 3-2 Ligue 1 defeat by Bordeaux on Sunday.

French sports minister Patrick Kanner had urged Ibrahimovic to say sorry, and later commended the "welcome apology from a great champion."

The Swede, 33, said: "I was speaking in anger. My remarks were not aimed at France or the French people."

Ibrahimovic, who had also criticised referee Lionel Jaffredo, added he was "talking about football and not something else" and apologised "if people felt offended".

His remarks - broadcast by infosport+ - came after he scored twice in PSG's third league defeat of the season, which left them two points behind leaders Lyon.

Ibrahimovic first equalised after Lamine Sane's opener, then cancelled out Wahbi Khazri's goal.

But Diego Rodin struck with two minutes left to snatch victory for the hosts.

Ibrahimovic accused Chelsea players of acting like "babies" after he was sent off as PSG knocked the Blues out of the Champions League on Wednesday.

Last month, Lyon coach Hubert Fournier claimed Ibrahimovic abuses French referees in either English or Italian so they cannot understand him.
