Brown Ideye targets safety with West Brom

Nigerian striker, Brown Ideye, knows his club West Bromwich Albion are still not safe from the drop in the Barclays Premier League and now wants to see them stay up

The former Dynamo Kiev man has made it clear that the Midlands club will need to chalk up six points to be certain of securing top flight football in England at the end of the season.

Ideye has also played down talks of West Brom out of danger from dropping from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has now identified his team's next two home matches against QPR and Leicester City as opportunities to win those six points to land them to safety.

"People are talking about three (points) but I'm not confident with that. I think we should go for six. In football you don't know what will happen so getting six points for us would be good.

"The next two games are massive. We are playing at home so we have to concentrate on giving our fans what we need, which is all three points," said Ideye, who has began to justify his £10 million move to the English outfit.

Ideye also talked about how kept on giving his best behind the scene despite his stuttering start at West Brom.

The former Ocean Boys forward said: "Even when things weren't going well with me I kept on working hard. Things just didn't work out the way they were supposed to at first but I am enjoying my football right now." Ideye has scored five goals in his last eight appearances for West Brom and will now look to help his team overcome struggling QPR this Saturday.
