Louis van Gaal has promised that he and the Manchester United hierarchy will do their best to make right signings in the transfer window this summer
It’s clear that Man United mean business in the off-season. The Red Devils agreed a deal earlier this month to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Memphis Depay for a fee of around £30 million (BBC Sport).
The Dutch youngster, who played under Van Gaal in Brazil at the 2014 World Cup last summer, has bagged 22 goals in 30 appearances in the Eredivisie this season.
However, it’s highly unlikely that will be the end of Manchester United’s forays into the transfer market over the next few months.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for Gareth Bale (via the Express) as the Red Devils look to make a big statement of intent ahead of their return to the Champions League.
Another key figure is a man at Bale’s former club Southampton. Nathaniel Clyne has been rumoured as the solution to Man United’s problems at right-back, according to the Daily Star, and will make an £18 million bid for the England international over the next few weeks.
Van Gaal has assured the Man United faithful that the board will do their best to make sure they bring in the right people.
