Henry says he was aware of the threat posed by Monaco, but was amazed by Arsenal's limp showing against the Ligue 1 side.
"They can win 3-0 but it is going to be very difficult," he told Sky Sports.
"I knew this could happen, but not like it happened tonight.
"Monaco, at the end of the day, won easily."
Henry's fellow pundits shared the Arsenal legend's dismay at the performance of his former side.
Jamie Redknapp claimed: "That was probably Arsene Wenger's most disappointing performance in Europe ever... it was so inept."
England coach Gary Neville added: "It's a terrible performance on terrible night."
