Chelsea's suspended midfielder Nemanja Matic changes into full kit to celebrate Capital One Cup success

Suspended midfielder Nemanja Matic (centre) changed into full kit to celebrate with his team-mates

Nemanja Matic did a ‘John Terry’ and joined his team-mates on the pitch to celebrate the victory in full kit, despite being banned for the final and not needing to

Terry was mocked for months after celebrating Chelsea’s 2012 Champions League win in full kit, complete with shin pads, even though he was suspended for that final.

The Kane family, accompanied by friends, were out in force for the occasion as they headed to Wembley together on a coach.
Older brother Charlie, who looks a dead ringer for the Spurs striker, posted a picture on Twitter of them all on their way, many donning rather eerie Harry Kane masks.

The Wembley Stadium website had as their lead story 'Courtois: My Wembley Dream’ just before kick off.
Presumably, the dreams he had in the week leading up to the match did not involve sitting on the bench and making way for Petr Cech after playing exceptionally in the competition’s semi-final.

Jose Mourinho loves to keep everyone guessing and made the bold move of naming centre-backs Kurt Zouma, John Terry and Gary Cahill in his starting XI.
The club’s official Twitter feed suggested Cahill would be in defensive midfield before the match, Zouma then initially lined up in a back three just before the game kicked off, but shifted up to defensive midfield alongside Ramires as the game started.

This was a vintage Mourinho performance - Chelsea took the lead with their first shot on target of the match on the stroke of half time.
Their opponents looked much the better team of the first half and would’ve been shocked to find themselves behind at the break.
