Gareth Bale putting in extra hours on training ground because of critics

Gareth Bale has been putting in extra work on the training ground in a bid to silence the Bernabeu boo boys

The Real Madrid man has been the subject of intense criticism by the media for his performances in recent weeks, as Los Blancos have failed to live up to expectations on the pitch.

Bale showed his frustration at the remarks by celebrating his first of two goals against Levante on Sunday night by covering his ears and kicking the corner flag.

He later got his toe on a Cristiano Ronaldo effort to secure the 2-0 win at the Bernabeu.

But Spanish newspaper AS are reporting that Bale is doing all he can to silence his critics by putting in extra work on the training ground.

The report says that Bale is working for at least an extra half an hour every single day in a bid to improve his technical and tactical skills.

And the work is being done specifically alongside Carlo Ancelotti's assistant, Paul Clement.

Bale is working on his ability down the right hand side, as well as cutting in to the back post in order to create further goalscoring chances, if not scoring them himself.

The Welshman is also working on finding the best scoring positions in a crowded penalty area - something that team-mate Ronaldo is especially good at.

And it appears that the extra work is doing wonders for Bale's confidence, as proven with a determined and dominant performance against Levante.
