Loic Remy has revealed what Jose Mourinho told him before he scored the winner for Chelsea against Hull

The French striker was brought on as a 75th minute replacement for Diego Costa.

And he fired home just two minutes later to claim all three points for the Blues and restore their six point lead over Manchester City.

When asked what Mourinho had said to him, Remy told Sky Sports: "When I was sent on, the manager just told me to get some quality in the final third."

Eden Hazard opened the scoring at the KC stadium inside two minutes before Costa doubled the lead.

Steve Bruce's side fought back and levelled when Abel Hernandez pounced on a shocking blunder by Thibaut Courtois.

Belgium international Hazard heaped praise on fringe-striker Remy for saving the day.

He said: "Everybody is important, I know it's not easy when you are on the bench but Loic is a great player and important for us."
