Mourinho wanted to kill Chelsea coach for revealing Liverpool result

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he wanted to kill one of his coaches after he told the team the result of the Liverpool vs Manchester City game before the Capital One Cup final, London Evening Standard reports

Mourinho did not want his players distracted ahead of the final against Tottenham Hotspur, so decided to hide the result of the Reds vs. City game until after the match at Wembley.

However, one of his coaching staff, Silvino Louro, jumped onto the bus and broke the news, infuriating the Blues boss.

“I knew that was an impossible mission [to hide the result from his players], but I didn’t want the television on in the hotel or on the bus,” he said.

“I told them I didn’t want any kind of manifestation or disappointment if City scored in the last minute, or Liverpool won. I wanted complete silence.

“We were successful on that. But one member of my staff jumped up in the bus, Silvino. I wanted to kill the guy. He broke the rule.”

And even though the Premier League champions were defeated by Liverpool to the joy of the Chelsea players, Mourinho claimed he did not want the team to believe they were ‘champions elect’, and that they still had it all to do with 12 games yet to play.

“It’s in the hands of everyone,” he said.

“We have lots of difficult matches to play. City have difficult matches. [Manchester] United are third, right? Nine points [behind]? They are in the title race too. Liverpool, I predicted that.”

Now five points above from City at the top of the table with a game in hand, Chelsea will take a major step towards the title if they can beat West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
