Cristiano Ronaldo has let it be known to the powers at Real Madrid that he really likes Manchester United star David de Gea, reports The Mail
De Gea is a summer target for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, who sees the goalkeeper as a natural successor to Iker Casillas.
With his Manchester United contract moving into its final 12 months, it is possibly Real Madrid's best chance to sign the player for a bargain price.
A fee of £30m has been mentioned in the same report but Manchester United may be forced to accept significantly less if De Gea makes his position clear.
The real question lies with whether or not Real Madrid are prepared to replace Casillas before his time is up. The legendary goalkeeper has been at the club for 25-years and is one of their most decorated players.
David de Gea was among the shortlist for the PFA award but lost out to Chelsea's Eden Hazard.
