Arsene Wenger: Chelsea are not boring

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed, once and for all, that Chelsea are not boring, the Mirror have reported

The storyline of Chelsea being a “boring” team was created after the Blues’ 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates around a month ago that made their push for the title all but certain.

Gunners’ fans around the stadium began chanting “boring, boring Chelsea” after the final whistle had blown and the Stamford Bridge faithful have taken it as their own now, using it during their 3-1 victory over Leicester.

Finally, the Arsenal boss has had his say on the matter and, disappointingly for the begrudging supporters at the Emirates, Wenger has stated that Chelsea have simply done exactly what a side needs to do to win the Premier League.

When the questioned was posed to the French boss as to whether Jose Mourinho’s outfit were “boring” or not, Wenger responded: “No. For me, that’s not boring. I don’t judge.

Everybody has his own style. If you want to win the championship, you have to make the points, no matter how.

“You have to respect that. I’m not a judge. I believe they have played some good football as well.

“When you get close to the end, you just want to get over the line and sometimes you play a little more cautious but I believe we look at our ourselves and we try to play as well as we can and try to be as efficient as we can.”

The chant from the Arsenal fans has little basis in all honesty. The Blues have scored more goals than the Gunners (70 to 67) and won against them 2-0 at Stamford Bridge earlier this year.
