Bayern Munich have made initial contact with Manchester United to gather information about the availability of Angel di Maria this summer, it has been claimed
Following a big money move from Real Madrid to Manchester United last summer, the Argentine started the season on a bright note but his form petered off as the campaign progressed and he struggled to get into Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven during the last few months of the term.
While many believe Di Maria is feeling unsettled at the club, the 27-year-old is known to be keen to prove himself at Old Trafford and want to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.
Manchester United have also been insisting that the Argentine is not going anywhere but their words are falling on deaf years as Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be plotting a move for Di Maria in the summer.
However, PSG are not the only club who are vying for Di Maria’s signature as German champions Bayern Munich have also entered the race for the former Benfica man.
According to Kicker, Bayern Munich technical director Michael Reschke recently spoke with Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and enquired about Di Maria’s availability in the summer transfer window.
While it is unclear how Woodward reacted, Manchester United have maintained that Di Maria is not for sale and Van Gaal is confident of extracting the best out of the Argentine next season.
