Bayern’s keepers train by having balls fired at them from a cannon

German football is in a perpetual state on innovation, with the top clubs forever looking for new methods to improve their training and preparation

The Bayern Munich keepers now have a new friend at Säbener Strasse: a cannon.

Manuel Neuer and sub keeper Tom Starke were introduced to the new training method this week, with balls being fired at them at a ferocious speed, much like in a baseball cage.

It’s fair to say they’re going to need a little time to get to grips with it.
