Luis Enrique set to leave Barcelona even if he wins the treble

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is set to walk away from the club this summer even if he wins the treble

Club elections are held in July and will almost certainly mean a new president which, in turn, almost always means a new coach.

This is despite the fact Enrique, whose side beat Bayern Munich 3-0 on Wednesday, is just six games from winning the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Cup.

Enrique has consistently refused to discuss the second year of his contract and those close to him suggest he is resigned to leaving in the summer regardless of how the season ends.

His situation is bound to alert Premier League clubs, including Manchester City.

Even if his team win the treble and president Josep Bartomeu wins the election, the coach could still decide to leave with his stock high.

City will not keep Manuel Pellegrini beyond the end of next season and, if they are given no indication this summer by Pep Guardiola that he is about to turn his back on Bayern, the search elsewhere could start with his former Barca team-mate.
