Louis van Gaal ignored by Ander Herrera
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has sometimes struggled to get his message across to players and there was a painfully obviously moment during the game against Newcastle United on Wednesday night, as reported by the Daily Mail’s Ian Ladyman
With the scores at 0-0 in the first half, Van Gaal left his seat in the dugout, where he tends to stay during matches, with the idea of passing on instructions to midfielder Ander Herrera.
However, after trying to get his attention, Herrera turned the other way away from his manager at which point Van Gaal returned to the dugout.
It was then reported that by the Mail that Van Gaal turned to his assistant Ryan Giggs and asked him to get a hearing aid for Herrera.
The Spaniard has recently returned to the first team after spending a large period of time on the bench and this news has pleased United fans.
The 25-year-old has been in good form whenever he has played, laying on three assists for his team-mates which is the fourth highest in the squad.
With 0.30 assists per 90 this season, it also means that Herrera has the third highest assists per 90 ratio this season in the Premier League.
Juan Mata (5) is the only United midfielder to score more goals than Ander Herrera in the league this season (3).
Fans of United will be hoping that this little situation doesn’t result in any negative sanctions for Herrera.
Man United ended up winning the clash against Newcastle, thanks to a late goal from Ashley Young.
