PSG will wear black armbands for Chelsea clash in respect of helicopter crash victims


Ten people, including three French sportspersons, were killed when two helicopters collided while filming a reality TV show in Argentina


Paris St Germain will wear black armbands at Stamford Bridge as a mark of respect for those killed in a helicopter crash in Argentina

Among the 10 victims of the accident on Monday were renowned yachtswoman Florence Arthaud, Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and PSG boss Laurent Blanc said 'the whole of French sport was in mourning'.

They had been taking part in a TV reality endurance show called Dropped. Former Arsenal star Sylvain Wiltord had also been taking part in the show but had been eliminated on the previous day.

Blanc said: 'I would like to say on behalf of the players and staff at PSG that we express our sincere condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the helicopter accident in Argentina. The whole of French sport is in mourning. I knew some of them personally. We will be wearing black armbands on our right arms in the game.'

Also killed when the two helicopters crashed near the Andes were five French members of the production team and two Argentine pilots.

PSG face Chelsea to contest a place in the Champions League quarter finals. The tie is level at 1-1 after the first leg in France.
