There are few better moments in football than a set-piece special honed on the training ground working to perfection in a big match, which is exactly what Argentine side Racing Club produced last night
The boys from Buenos Aries put together a lightning-quick move in their Copa Libatedores clash with Sporting Cristal last night, which was finished off in emphatic style by Bryan Fernandez.
He stood in front of the wall under the guise of disrupting the Cristal wall attempting to block an incoming strike from 25 yards out, but instead peeled away to meet a deft touch from an unmarked team-mate and slam a thunderous strike into the roof of the net.
Racing's strike that demands attention brought back terrific memories of creative thinking from Spain's under-21 side, who trotted out all kinds of weird and wonderful set-piece combinations in European youth championship matches under now Porto coach Julen Lopetegui.
But the wonderful moment didn't actually help Racing win any precious points for their South American Champions League campaign.
