Luke Shaw admits he still needs to prove himself at Manchester United
Luke Shaw claims he needs to prove himself at Manchester United , despite his meteoric rise
Shaw became the most expensive teenager in world football when he joined United for £30million from Southampton after playing for England at the World Cup.
But the left-back has endured a difficult first season and he has been plagued by injury.
Shaw, 19, was forced off at half-time in Monday's FA Cup defeat to Arsenal with a recurrence of his hamstring injury and has been limited to 17 appearances.
He knows he needs to keep working hard and said: "I appreciate I've been lucky to be my age and to have gone to the World Cup, and to be where I am now. It's just unbelievable.
"I'm not taking anything for granted. I just want to keep on improving as a player and show people why I am here at Manchester United."
Surrey-born Shaw claims he has happily settled in Manchester after moving into a house with his family.
He told Inside United: "I love it. It's a nice place to be. I've settled down in my house and it's nice and quiet. I'm with my family and have a couple of friends up here, so it just feels like home."
