The Metro are reporting that Roma are expected to announce the signature of Glen Johnson within the next 48 hours
The England international is out of contract at the end of the season, and was previously said to have been asked to take a pay-cut to remain at Anfield beyond the summer.
Johnson was this week claimed to have set his heart on a move abroad, and after talks with a number of clubs, is believed to be ready to sign a pre-contract agreement to join Roma this summer.
He will be joining his former Chelsea and England international team-mate Ashley Cole at the Stadio Olimpico, who also left the Premier League on a free-transfer.
Liverpool have been linked with moves for Alvaro Arbeloa, Danilo and Dani Alves as the 30 year-old’s replacement, with all three expected to leave their respective clubs this summer.
The Barcelona right-back is out of contract in June, and despite being reported to have signed a pre-contract with PSG, today’s reports claim Liverpool are still in the hunt.
