Santi Carzola: The maestro Ozil needs to learn from

When Wenger announced in the dressing room that Arsenal had signed Mesut Ozil just after Arsenal beat Spurs last season, Santi said they all jubilated like babies and Mesut got off to a flying start at least in the first few games but afterwards he faded away, then the adaptation talks started, talks of how he has to adapt to the rigors of English Football

Fortunately in his first season, Arsenal's long wait for silverware since winning the FA cup in 2005 eventually ended. Could that have been due to his displays on the field or him just coming with his NAME to lift the atmosphere around the club? He had an injury in the match against Chelsea few months ago, a match which again questioned his performance against the big teams, now he's back and fit and like he first arrived, he has shone in few games now, even if at times, I felt like ‘what's Mesut doing?’

Fast forward the Monaco game and I was stunned by his terrible display which made me ask myself why he must start some matches we can't risk losing. Ozil didn't deserve to step out of that door for the 2nd half and I just sat there listening to the commentator say "When Ozil loses the ball, it's about his willingness to help get it back", his body language annoys you most times. He doesn't work hard enough for the team. If I were to be the one to select the starting eleven, Ozil would not be in Arsenal starting eleven because Santi's got to play (which I will talk about later) and add the impressive coquelin too, we've got Wilshere and Ramsey coming back and even Rosicky. These are guys who'll chase down every ball. Ramsey loses balls too but the way he hunts you down to win it back is top-class. Wake up Mesut!!!! Football is a team game. You've got to work hard.

I mentioned Santi a while ago, speaking about him; I had no choice than to argue with some guys about a week ago. They said now that Ramsey and Wilshere are back, Santi will return to the bench. This man named’ Santiago Cazorla’ has left me overjoyed at times with his displays, his ambidexterity makes me laugh out loud and his ability to shift feet quickly (tic-toc) makes me have goose pimples. For me, Santi has stamped his name and image into the heart of Arsenal fans. Hence, his song serenades the Emirates on match days.

Acquired from Malaga as a winger for way below his worth due to his club's financial situation and he won Arsenal's player in his first season registering 12 goals and 14 assists. Santi was moved wide when Mesut Ozil came on board but he had license to roam inside. This season, especially in recent weeks after that terrific performance against Man city, he's played in a deeper role and he has excelled due to his improvement in tackling and that shows what a player he's become for Arsenal and at this stage in our season, it will be a great disaster losing him to injury. Wenger has sung his praises recently and I would not be surprised if Santi's name is always the first on the team sheet.

Mesut has to take a cue from Santi and Up his game if he is to survive in the EPL.

Readers please listen for Santi's song at the Emirates (oooooooh Santi Cazooorla, Ooooooh Santi Cazooooorla!) That guy is loved! I am running late for class, that's all for today. Y'all should enjoy your day.
