Tottenham confident keeper and captain Hugo Lloris won't leave even if they miss top 4 finish again

Chelsea v Tottenham

Tottenham are increasingly confident of keeping captain Hugo Lloris - even if they miss out on the Champions League once more

The 28-year-old goalkeeper signed a new five-year contract last summer but it was widely believed he might consider his future if they fail to finish in the top four again after coming fifth in his debut campaign of 2012-13 and sixth last season.

Spurs are currently sixth with 10 games to go, but are just three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United

However, France international Lloris is happy in London, his wife and family are settled in the capital and the French No1 has indicated he wants to stay.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have both been heavily linked with Lloris, who has built up a reputation as one of the best keepers in Europe.

Spurs also have Dutch international Michel Vorm and his arrival last summer was seen as signing a long-term replacement for Lloris.

But it appears as if Lloris is in for the long haul as Tottenham look to build for the future under first-year manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Lloris is already a hit with the Spurs fans and his loyalty and determination to bring new success to the Lane will make him even more popular.
