Wayne Rooney has taken to insulting Manchester United's Spanish contingent in their native tongue – to get the best out of them
United midfielder Ander Herrera revealed skipper Rooney has learnt some Spanish swear-words to ensure he can fire up his team-mates in language they will undersand.
"Rooney is outgoing and insults us in Spanish,” said Herrera in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Pais.
“I'd rather talk to him about football because he likes boxing and could try with me.
"There's a lot of respect for Rooney and Michael Carrick, but David De Gea says the dressing-room used to be more hierarchical with Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.
"Michael Carrick's very serious, but suits another quote by [former Atlhletic Blibao coach Marco Bielsa]: 'leaders don't need to speak much, but you listen to them when they speak'.”
