Lukas Podolski is expecting to return to Arsenal in the coming weeks following the conclusion of his loan spell at Inter Milan
The Germany international was sent out to the Serie A club on a temporary deal after being deemed surplus to requirements at Emirates Stadium by manager Arsene Wenger.
Podolski is due to return to the north London club ahead of next season, despite the plethora of attacking options available to Wenger.
However, the World Cup winner, who recently turned 30, accepts that his situation could change this summer during the transfer window.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, Podolski said: “There will be speculations about my future. It looks like I will return to London. But things can change in the upcoming weeks or even days.
“If need be, I will be at Arsenal next season. It’s a great club, and I think that I can help the team.
I am still young, in spite of the big 30 now. I still very much feel like playing football. Let’s see what happens. I will not vanish from the football world.”
Podolski managed to score just one goal during his 19 appearances for Inter Milan last season.
He scored 19 Premier League goals in 60 games for Arsenal after moving to the north London club from Cologne back in the summer of 2012.
The forward has scored 31 goals in all competitions for Arsenal.
